What is Excel?

Microsoft Excel is a part of Microsoft Office package that allow you to create and edit spread sheets. It saves
information in form of rows and columns. Mostly people are familiar with Ms Excel because its use in
many business applications. It is easy to use and fast calculation. You use an electronic spreadsheet to
perform numeric calculations rapidly and accurately. Mostly Microsoft Excel is install in every computer. It is very
easy to use.

What is a Worksheet in Excel?
A Spreadsheet with in a workbook is a worksheet which is widely used in business. mathematics and statistical applications, You can generate reports, salary sheets and also manage a small databases in a worksheet.

Row: A row is excel is a horizontal series of cells identified by a number.

Column: A columns is a vertical series of cell identified by an alphabetical letter

Cell:The Intersection of a row and column is a rectangular area is called a cell

Cell Reference: A letter and number combination used to refer to a particular cell

Reference of active cell is B2.

How to Start Ms Excel

Start Menu Microsoft Excel

Steps to Start Ms Excel:

1-Click on Menu in your windows

2-Click on Program Menu

3-Click on Microsoft Office

4-Click on Microsoft Office Excel

5-Microsoft Excel will be started

OR you can start Microsoft excel by double click on icon
